The Chosen Heart
Longing for a child to love, We'd wish upon the stars above. In our hearts we always knew A part of us was meant for you. We think how happy we will be, Once we adopt you, and you adopt we. We dream of all the joy you'll bring, Imagining even the littlest things. The way it will feel to hold you tight, And tuck you in every night. The drawing on the refrigerator door, And childhood toys across the floor. The favorite stories read again and again, And hours of games with make-believe friends. The day you took our outstretched hands, A journey ended, but our lives began. Still mesmerized by your sweet face, Still warmed inside by our first embrace. We promised to give you a happy home, And a loving family all your own. A house you've now made complete, With laughter, smiles, and tiny feet. A parent is one who guides the way, Know we will be there everyday. Rest easy as each night you sleep, A lifetime of love is yours to keep. Longing for a child to love, We'd wish upon the stars above. In our heart we always knew, A part of us belonged to you.
What am I going to do for entertainment now...I get up every morning and look at Tai's pictures before I go to work. I wish I could be in Kansas tomorrow....I Love you, Aunt Ginny
Thanks for all the posts while you were in China. It has been great to follow your journey. We leave tomorrow to start ours and can't wait! We have taken some great advice from you!! -Andy
Thanks for all of your interesting and funny posts from China. Tai looks like a great kid--full of personality and cute as button! I wish you safe travel, and I pray for good health for your son.
Also, I think it is great that you have had such a positive experience in China. Everything you have done, everyone you have met, every photo, and even every purchase is now part of your story of bringing Tai home. These will become part of his story soon.
Leaving China was one of the most difficult and emotional things I have ever done. I felt such a huge loss for my daughter and cried most of the way to the airport. I just wanted to let you know that you are not alone.
Anyway, good luck getting back to reality. Your life has fovever changed in such a great way!
Thanks so much for sharing your journey with us. I've looked forward to your updates everyday. Anthony is even telling me to "check on Tai" every morning. Have a safe trip home. You 3 are lucky to have each other.
Hope that the travel home is safe and that you and Tai can get some sleep (Benadryl :) ) Thank you so much for sharing the joining of your family. I can't wait to meet him and give you a big HUG Mama!!!! Addi hopes that Tai likes to swim, because she found a swimsuit this week that she thought he just had to have. love ya and can't wait till your home.
By the time you read this (and all other the other posts I left today) you will already be home May your journey be safe and blessed. And remember, you are taking Tai to his home, not away from it. Your commitment to keping China alive for him is all that he will need. Can't wait to start reading the posts from "HOME"!!!
